About the Event
With The Golden Son, Shilpi Somaya Gowda, the New York Times and #1 internationally bestselling author of Secret Daughter, returns with an unforgettable story of family, responsibility, love, honor, tradition, and identity, in which two childhood friends—a young doctor and a newly married bride—must balance the expectations of their culture and their families with the desires of their own hearts.
Join us at Taste of Himalaya for an authentic Indian Luncheon Adventure. Over traditional Indian entrees, Shilpi will elaborate on the traditions of India that inspired her to write The Golden Son. The careful research Shilpi did to create this intricate story ranged from delving further into Indian customs to visiting hospitals across the country to imagine the career of her main character. Don't miss this opportunity to meet this incredible author and enjoy a delicious meal at one of San Diego's favorite locations for Indian cuisine.
Your Adventure includes an authentic Indian lunch, book discussion, Q&A, author signing, and an opportunity to meet the author up close & personal in an intimate & unique setting.
