Adventures by the Book is honored to partner with Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at San Diego State University for a a Kous Kous Moroccan Culture and Cuisine Edventure by the Book featuring award-winning chef and author Kitty Morse.
The North African country of Morocco is a land of ethnic diversity and rich culinary and cultural traditions. Award-winning author and chef Kitty Morse knows this all too well, for she was born in this exotic land which has inspired her passion for cooking.
As the author of many cookbooks, as well as her most recent memoir, Mint Tea and Minarets, Kitty will draw on her heritage and experiences as a chef and Moroccan tour guide to share some of Morocco’s culinary and cultural treasures, while dining on an authentic Moroccan lunch at Kous Kous Bistro in Hillcrest.
About The Author
Kitty Morse is an award-winning San Diego author and chef who has published many cookbooks inspired by her Moroccan heritage. In 2002, she conducted a Culinary Concert on Moroccan culture and cuisine hosted by Julia Child, and from 1983 to 2007, Kitty organized an annual tour to Morocco that included culinary demonstrations in her family home, a Moorish riad south of Casablanca. Her most recent book, Mint Tea and Minarets: A Banquet of Moroccan Memories, is a memoir of her life in Morocco.
