About the EventAdventures by the Book™ is honored to partner with Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at San Diego State University for a Culture & Cuisine of Cuba Edventure, at the location of San Diego's most authentic Cuban cuisine, Andres Restaurant. Join us for a delicious meal, as well as, a chance to meet acclaimed novelist, M.L Malcolm, whose latest thriller The Cuban Connection is set under the rule of Fidel Castro during the 1960s, and introduces ace reporter Katherine O’Connor, who has a nose for news and an inclination to use it in very dangerous places.
Our Edventure is an opportunity to discover Cuba, a country that for decades has been plagued by conflict and debate due to its communist rule, yet has continued to thrive as a multi-ethnic hub in the Caribbean Sea. Cuba is the second most populous island in the region, with over 11 million inhabitants deriving from a variety of customs and cultures. The capitol city of Havana has long invoked exotic images of hot Havana nights and throngs of people crowding the Spanish designed streets. Event includes food, drink, tax & gratuity, book discussion, Q&A, book signing, and the opportunity to meet the author up close and personal in an intimate and authentic setting.
