About the EventAdventures by the Book™ is honored to partner with Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at San Diego State University for a Vista Market Edventure, at the oldest farmers market in San Diego County. Beginning in 1981, every Saturday morning, rain or shine, the Vista Market has opened to the public, making it the longest running market in San Diego county and one of the oldest in the state. In addition to 34 prepared food artisans and 18 crafters that attend the market, there are 53 farmers that sell their local and fresh produce. Kitty Morse is the author of ten cookbooks, and a frequent shopper of the market, where she often obtains specialty items, like the flora she uses in the recipes from her latest book Edible Flowers. Join us on a Vista Market Edventure for a specialty tour of this historic market that has inspired so many others with Kitty who will give us inside tips on smart shopping, as well as, introduce us to some of her favorite farmers. After the tour, students will be given free time to shop the market for lunch, before gathering for a picnic and book discussion.
Event includes tour, a copy of Edible Flowers, book discussion, Q&A, book signing, and the opportunity to meet the author up close and personal in an intimate and authentic setting.
