About the EventAdventures by the Book is honored to partner with Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at San Diego State University for a Wilderness Wolf Edventure, at the fascinating California Wolf Center. Join us for an educational tour of this important animal center with Marybeth Hollemen. You will have the chance to observe the endangered wolves for yourself and learn about what can be done to further conservation efforts.
Marybeth Holleman is co-author of Among Wolves: Gordon Haber's Insights into Alaska's Most Misunderstood Animal, author of the Heart of the Sound: An Alaskan Paradise Found and Nearly Lost, and co-editor of Crosscurrents North: Alaskans on the Environment. She has taught creative writing and women's studies at various Alaskan Campuses, most frequently at the university of Alaska Anchorage.
She is also author of Alaska’s Prince William Sound: A Traveler’s Guide and The State of the Sound, and writes for nonprofit organizations on environmental issues, including predator control, global warming, oil spills, and polar bears. She has received many awards and residencies, including Hedgebrook and Mesa Refuge; most recently she was an Artist in Residence at Denali National Park.
