About the EventAdventures by the Book™ is honored to partner with Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at San Diego State University for A Swimmer's Heart Edventure, at San Diego State University. Lynne Cox had to train in extreme conditions to achieve the great long-distance open-water feats she has completed. Lynne is best known for swimming the Bering Strait in 1987, from the island of Little Diomede in Alaska to Big Diomede, then part of the Soviet Union, with water temperature averaging around 44°F. Join us on A Swimmers Heart Edventure for a special presentation by Lynne herself, with the release of her new book, Swimming in the Sink: An Episode of the Heart. Lynne will discuss the challenges she faced, not only in becoming a record-setting swimmer, but also as an individual, facing the challenges of her own health.
Event includes author talk, signed copy of Swimming in the Sink, book discussion, Q&A, book signing, and the opportunity to meet the author up close and personal.
