Our Story
Adventures by the Book® was created in 2011 by Founder and CEO Susan McBeth, the name behind some of the biggest literary events and travels around the world. Susan couldn’t escape the feeling that traditional book signings were missing meaningful opportunities for authors and readers to connect more intimately through the superpower of books.
Susan launched Adventures by the Book® to connect authors and their books with the local reading community through custom designed, interactive, and what she likes to call “multi-sensorial” literary events. Adventures by the Book® has since created literary magic in eight U.S. states and five continents around the world for passionate readers, published authors, aspiring writers, and others who enjoy engaging cultural events and the written word. The fact is: when readers and their favorite authors share an Adventure, magic happens!

Administrative Assistant
Read More
She explored these interests through her job as an English tutor for community college students, which merged both her love of writing and her passion for helping others. After an internship with the Andrea Brown Literary Agency in the summer of 2021, she solidified her desire to work within the publishing industry.
Her passion for books also inspired her to create a literary blog in 2016. It featured book reviews, discussions on publishing news and trends as well as personal stories on her relationship with her favorite novels and authors. Today, Sara continues to share her dedication through social media. Her background in publishing, public media, interpersonal communication and customer service has prepared her for her role as Administrative Assistant at Adventures by the Book®.
Sara holds an Associate’s Degree in English from Grossmont College as well as a Bachelor’s Degree also in English as well as a Creative Editing and Publishing Certificate from San Diego State University. She maintains connection to her roots by listening to Latin music, eating cachapas and arepas and constantly texting on WhatsApp group chats. During her free time, Sara enjoys reading (obviously), singing, dancing and re-watching old favorite television shows over and over.
Meet Our Ambassadors

Simon Chibuk
Edmonton,
Alberta Canada
My name is Simon Chibuk. I reside in Edmonton, Alberta Canada (Western Canada). I’m quite the avid reader. My go to genre is historical fiction, but do branch out if something catches my interest.

Of course, reading is not my one and only interest. I love watching movies, sports, and hanging out with family and friends.
During the COVID pandemic, I joined the Third Thursday of the Month historical fiction virtual book club. We have had great discussions and even had the experience of having authors attend, including some from NovelNetwork! I have been part of this book club since December 2020. We have a large, growing membership list as people hear more about our group, and we are open to accept new members.
Having used NovelNetwork’s service since being introduced to it by a book club member in spring 2022, and developing a virtual connection with Debbie Harpham, I also saw the ultimate goal of bringing readers and authors together to discuss literature and in some cases, an outlet to reality even if just for an hour
Simon’s book club, Third Thursday of the Month:
Third Thursday of the Month Book Club formed on Facebook in December 2020 as an outlet for historical fiction lovers to come together amidst the pandemic. The club currently has over 900 members from across the U.S. and Canada. Each month, 20-50 members log-in to our Zoom discussion of a historical fiction which has been suggested and voted upon by members. We enjoy author visits to enrich our discussions and introduce our members to the craft of researching and writing about a wide spectrum of historical events, people, and time periods.

Janis Robinson Daly Book Lover—Researching Them, Writing Them, Reading Them.

Inspired by genealogy research where I learned an ancestor helped found the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1850, I discovered the stories of early graduates of the school.
Realizing those women’s stories have lingered in the shadows, I wanted to bring them forward by writing The Unlocked Path, my debut historical fiction. Published in August 2022 from Black Rose Writing, book clubs have embraced the story, celebrated the characters, and discussed many topics around women’s health and women’s rights to advance choices in their lives.
I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Wheaton College, at the time, an all-women’s college. At Wheaton, I developed a fond appreciation of the supportive relationships established between students, faculty, and alumnae and a heightened awareness of female-centric issues. Both directed my writing of The Unlocked Path. Splitting my time between Cape Cod, New Hampshire and Florida gives me great flexibility to schedule in-person and Zoom meetings with book clubs near and far from my current address at any given time.
