Join our ABTB Book Club Series!
Adventures by the Book is delighted to welcome 7 ABTB Ambassadors, who moderate our ABTB Book Club Series. The monthly series will alternate between virtual Zoom events, in person San Diego, California events, and hybrid in person/virtual Harrison, New York, events. Each month, our Ambassadors will select an Adventures by the Book author and book to discuss, and we will send out invites for you to join us as you are able, whether in person or virtually.
We invite you to join us at our next virtual event, featuring award-winning author Howard Jay Smith in a moderated book club discussion with 3 of our esteemed Ambassadors, Simon Chibuk (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), Jennifer Erickson (Chicago, Illinois), Dorothy Minor (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma), and YOU!
Whether you are already part of an existing book club, or have been wanting to join one, our ABTB Book Club is open to all. Read the book, which we encourage, or not, if you don’t have time, but come join us anyway and be part of the shared reading experience.
*Pre-order your copies of Viva Violetta & Verdi (below) and we will ship it to you, so that you can read it prior to the event.
Howard Jay Smith is an award-winning writer from Santa Barbara, California. While an executive at the ABC Television, Embassy TV, and Academy Home Entertainment he worked on numerous film television, radio and commercial projects. He serves on the board of directors of the Santa Barbara Symphony and is a member of the American Beethoven Society.
His new novel, Viva Violetta & Verdi, intertwines the turbulent relationship of Giuseppe Verdi and Giuseppina Strepponi — the brilliant and seductive soprano who shaped his legacy — with the nation’s fierce struggle for independence. Rich with themes of love, power, food, wine, and unrelenting passion, Violetta & Verdi is an unforgettable exploration of art, resilience, and the enduring bond that transformed both an artist and a nation.
To schedule a book club visit with Howard or any of our authors, please follow us on Adventures by the Book®:
While this event is FREE and open to the public, registration is required in order to receive a Zoom link (to be emailed to you 3 days prior to the event). Books may be pre-ordered below to ship directly to you so that you may read the book prior to the book club discussion.
