Meet the Reading Renegades Book Club:
“We meet via Zoom, all live in Indiana. We are friends who live in different cities and we started our club at the beginning of Covid to stay in touch. Most of the time, we have authors join our group. We also use about half of each meeting doing something wacky or creative related to the book or the season. We are entrepreneurs, business leaders and philanthropists in our day jobs. We have six members currently, and meet once a month. We enjoy reading all genres.”
Book club manager Kathy found a personal connection to her past through The Next Ship Home. Of her group’s recent visit with its author, USA Today bestseller and book club favorite Heather Webb, Kathy shared this:
“We learned so much from Heather about historical research she had done. I was particularly struck by something she found – a ferry that caught on fire and all 1,000 women and children on board perished. That could have been my Czech grandmother! Thank you to both of you for making our lives richer. As a descendent of Ellis Island immigrants, I was particularly interested in this book!”
Thank you, Kathy, for sharing your personal connection with Heather’s story.
