About the Event

Award-winning author Leslie Lehr wants to talk about boobs; it’s why she wrote A Boob’s Life: How America’s Obsession Shaped Me-and You.  But she’s not alone… New York Times/bestselling authors Kristin Harmel, Laura Zigman and Jamie Brenner, want to talk about boobs, too, and we think you need to hear what they have to say, because these four beloved and bestselling authors have had to take a good hard look at their own bodies as they underwent (or are undergoing) treatment for breast cancer.

Please join these four courageous authors for a casual, frank conversation about breast cancer–how they were diagnosed, how it changed their lives, how their cancer was treated, what they now know that they wish they knew then, how it changed their perspective going forward, how it affected them as writers, and how it affected their relationship to our own bodies. This is an important conversation for anyone who has breasts, or loves them.

Following their dialogue, celebrate Leslie’s paperback launch of A Boob’s Life, which explores both the joys and hazards inherent to living in a woman’s body. Leslie deftly blends her personal narrative with national history, starting in the 1960s with the women’s liberation movement and moving to the current feminist dialogue and what it means to be a woman. Her insightful and clever writing analyzes how America’s obsession with the female form has affected her own life’s journey and the psyche of all women today.

And of course, we want to hear from you, so have your questions ready. These authors are candid, brave, and eager to educate others. No matter your gender, you’ll never view this sexy and sacred body part the same way again.

Books from all the featured authors are available below for purchase and will be shipped directly to you. Please consider donating a copy of A Boob’s Life to a cancer center to distribute to women undergoing breast cancer treatment. Just click on the DONATION COPY of Leslie’s book below. Thank you for your continued support!
