About the Event

“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”– C.S. Lewis

Your presence is requested at our upcoming Literary Tea Adventure with award-winning author Loretta Ellsworth. Loretta’s new novel, The Jilted Countess, presents a remarkable story of a Hungarian countess and her unusual path to find a husband.

Don’t miss this delectable Adventure at San Diego’s historic Coral Tree Tea House, where we will enjoy a charming tea service while Loretta divulges more about her incredible story of the woman who could be considered the first Bachelorette.

Your Adventure includes tea delicacies such as tea sandwiches, Waldorf salad, pastries, fresh scones, tax, gratuity, author presentation, book signing, and the opportunity to meet the author up-close and personal in an intimate setting.

About the Author and Book

Loretta Ellsworth received her MFA from Hamline University. She is a former teacher and an award-winning author of four young adult novels, a picture book called Tangle-Knot, and the historical novels Stars Over Clear Lake and The French Winemaker’s Daughter, the story of two women connected by a rare and valuable bottle of wine.

In Loretta’s newest novel, The Jilted Countess, a desperate Hungarian countess turns to a Midwestern newspaper to find a husband in order to avoid having to return to a war-torn Europe, sparking an overwhelming response from World War II veterans. Based on a true story, this moving novel follows Roza as she navigates love, loss, and the challenges of building a new life in postwar America.
