Susie Orman Schnall is the author of five novels about ambitious women: Anna Bright is Hiding Something (2023), We Came Here to Shine (2020), The Subway Girls (2018), The Balance Project (2015), and On Grace (2014). She’s also a screenwriter currently shopping her first pilot and feature-length screenplay.
A mother of three sons, Susie grew up in Los Angeles, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, and now lives with her husband in New York. When she’s not reading or writing you can find her doing a crossword puzzle, playing around on Canva, or hiking to the top of a mountain.
Her latest novel, Anna Bright is Hiding Something, is a fast-paced and ripped-from-the-headlines story set in the glossy offices of Silicon Valley startups and New York City new media. This novel explores our culture’s fascination with businesswomen who are breaking barriers—and sometimes behaving badly in the process.

Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke have been best friends for over thirty years and survived high school and college together. They’ve co-authored seven novels, including the Amazon Charts bestseller, The Good Widow. They also appear monthly on a San Diego news station to share their favorite book club picks.
Lynn and Gary McLean are the owner-operators of Carlsbad’s Napatini Bistro & Wine Bar. They moved to San Diego’s North County in 2019 from the San Francisco Bay Area, where they lived very close to California Wine Country. Long story made short: This is a bucket list to-do for Lynn & Gary!
“We wanted a wine experience. Our friends and we thought of all the great times we had at wine tasting rooms in Wine Country. We thought that if we were ever given the opportunity, we would try to mimic that wine-tasting room experience- at least as much as practical- by opening a wine bar, minus elaborate decor. After hitting a number of challenges we opened in December 2022!”
