About the Authors

Georgie Blalock is the bestselling author of The Other Windsor Girl, as well as a history and movie buff who loves combining her different passions through historical fiction, and a healthy dose of period piece films. When not writing, she can be found prowling the non-fiction history section of the library or the British film listings on Netflix or in the dojo training for her next karate black belt rank. Georgie also writes historical romance under the name Georgie Lee.

Fans of The Kennedy Debutante and Last Year in Havana will love The Last Debutantes, Georgie’s new novel of a world on the cusp of change…set on the eve of World War II in the glittering world of English society and one of the last debutante seasons. They danced the night away, knowing their world was about to change forever. They were the debutantes of 1939, laughing on the outside, but knowing tragedy— and a war—was just around the corner.

Patricia Bracewell is the bestselling author of the historical fiction novels, Shadow on the Crown and The Price of Blood. Raised amid Southern California’s dry hills and sunshine, she was somehow drawn to stories set in England’s wet, green dales. When not writing, she enjoys music, tennis, gardening, and the theater, as well as traveling – to England, to France, to England, to South America, to England, to Canada, to England.

The Steel Beneath the Silk is the third in her trilogy about a pre-Conquest queen consort of England, Emma of Normandy. Emma’s name is not as familiar to us today as that of Eleanor of Aquitaine or Katharine of Aragon; nevertheless she was actively involved in the reigns of seven kings of England at a time when just surviving so many rulers was a noteworthy accomplishment.  Indeed, Emma lived to an advanced age, well into her sixties if not her seventies, outliving two husbands, three of her five children, and all but one of her numerous Norman siblings.

Dolley Carlson is a third-generation Irish American with South Boston “Southie” roots. She is the daughter of one of Boston’s finest (Boston Police Department), and is passionate about weaving the people, locale, and lore of the city into her first novel, The Red Coat. For the last 20 years, she has been an inspirational speaker at events across the nation. She is author of a four-book series: Gifts From The Heart (Cook Communications), which has sold more than 90,000 copies. She has contributed to books and magazines, been a frequent guest on radio programs, and her work was featured on KTLA -TV in Los Angeles.

In The Red Coat, Irish domestic worker Norah King’s decision to ask her wealthy employer, Caroline Parker, for an elegant red coat the Beacon Hill matriarch has marked for donation ignites a series of events that neither woman could have fathomed. The unlikely exchange will impact their respective daughters for generations, from the coat’s original owner, marriage-minded collegian Cordelia Parker, to the determined and spirited King sisters of South Boston, Rosemary, Kay, and Rita. As all of these young women experience the realities of life—love and loss, conflict and joy, class prejudices and unexpected prospects—the red coat reveals the distinction between cultures, generations, and landscapes in Boston during the 1940s and 50s, a time of change, challenge, and opportunity.

She lives in Houston, Texas, and when she’s not writing or practicing law, Judithe enjoys riding horses, reading, scouring the fields during Round Top Antiques Week, and volunteering.

The Chanel Sisters is a novel of survival, love, loss, triumph—and the sisters who changed fashion forever. Antoinette and Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel know they’re destined for something better. Abandoned by their family years before, they’ve grown up under the guidance of pious nuns preparing them for simple lives as the wives of tradesmen or shopkeepers. At night, their secret stash of romantic novels and magazine cutouts beneath the floorboards are all they have to keep their dreams of the future alive. The walls of the convent can’t shield them forever, and when they’re finally of age, the Chanel sisters set out together with a fierce determination to prove themselves worthy to a society that has never accepted them. But when World War I breaks out, their lives are irrevocably changed, and the sisters must gather the courage to fashion their own places in the world, even if apart from each other.

In her new novel, The Social Graces, Renee throws back the curtain on one of the most remarkable feuds in history: Alva Vanderbilt and the Mrs. Astor’s notorious battle for control of New York society during the Gilded Age. In the glittering 1876 world of Manhattan’s upper crust, women are valued by their pedigree, dowry, and, most importantly, connections. They have few rights and even less independence—what they do have is society. And none is more powerful than Caroline Astor, but times are changing. Alva Vanderbilt has recently married into one of America’s richest families. But what good is dizzying wealth when society refuses to acknowledge you? Alva, who knows what it is to have nothing, will do whatever it takes to have everything.
