About the Live and In-Person Event

Let’s be honest, the Thanksgiving meal is all about the side dishes (and pie!), and professional chef and cookbook author Katie Farina wants to share her deliciously healthy Thanksgiving side dish recipes with you!

Join us at a private San Diego residence for our live and in-person Holiday Cooking Adventure. Your Adventure includes a holiday themed cooking class, recipe packet, full lunch meal, a copy of Katie’s Healing Kitchen cookbook (filled with over 100 mouthwatering recipes) to be delivered and signed at the event, tax, and the opportunity to engage with Katie live and in-person and ask her your Thanksgiving menu questions.

Perhaps the best part of this experience is that many of the recipes you will learn can be made in advance, leaving you with less time in the kitchen and more time with family and friends… just in time for the holidays.

About the Author and Book

Katie Farina is a professional chef, cookbook author and winner of the 2017 and 2018 Best Vegan Cooking Class in San Diego by Vegan in San Diego.

Katie grew up surrounded by food. By day, she helped her parents with their local farmers’ market business and by night, she assisted her dad in the kitchen with endless recipe testing. Even though she grew up in the kitchen, her passion for cooking did not peak until her mom was diagnosed with cancer. It was then that she first made the connection between what we eat and its strong impact on our health.

After graduating from college, Katie realized she wanted to pursue both her passions: Social Justice and Food. She worked in restaurants to develop her culinary skills while still being a counselor in a group home for troubled youth.  In June 2013, she graduated from the Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts, a Professional Chef Training Institute.

Katie’s lifelong goal is to inspire others to make the connection between the food they eat and its effect on their body, the environment and the world.

Her cookbook, Katie’s Healing Kitchen, is filled with over 100 vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free recipes, with full page color photos for each recipe. Learn tips and tricks for creating the best and healthiest meals, from breakfast, to drinks, to mains, to sides, to appetizers, to desserts! This cookbook is packed with easy, fun, healthy, and delicious recipes everyone in your family is sure to love.
