Belinda Jones, critically acclaimed journalist and author, will be joining us for an unforgettable Yappy Hour Adventure where we will celebrate dogs, enjoy tasty drinks and treats, and have the pleasure of getting to know Belinda’s new book, Bodie on the Road!
This heartwarming and touching memoir follows the journey of two lost souls who were more than ready to find a new life. Together, they embarked on a 2,000 mile road trip in pursuit of love, adventure, and tail-wagging. Think “Eat, Pray, Love meets Marley & Me.”

About the Book
Belinda Jones is a British magazine journalist, bestselling author and award-winning dog blogger. (www.bodieontheroad.com) She has penned 11 escapist beach reads (primarily for Penguin Random House) that can also double as travel guides to destinations from Costa Rica to Capri. Her first road trip memoir On the Road to Mr. Right: A Search for the American Dream Guy made the Sunday Times Top 10 Non Fiction Bestseller List alongside her writing hero Bill Bryson. For Bodie on the Road (and in life) she has become less Thelma & Louise, more Turner & Hooch.
Before they met, Bodie was on death row at a gangland kill shelter, having been abandoned by his owner. Belinda was in a heap on the floor of her LA apartment, having been dumped by the man of her dreams. This feel-good doggysey from Los Angeles to Portland, Oregon features a multitude of dog-themed activities including: afternoon tea at Doris Day’s dog-friendly hotel, meeting the creator of Kennel N.5 Furfume in Carmel, and a saloon stop in Sunol where a dog was elected mayor and ran for 13 consecutive years.

About Labs and More Rescue
Bringing together people who believed there should be a brighter future for these loyal companions left to fend for themselves is why Labs and More was founded in 2011. They have had the good fortune of meeting amazing people and wonderful volunteers who have helped them build a network of compassionate and generous people who have helped build Labs and More. Because of these efforts, they have endeavored to never have to say “no” to dogs in their breed group needing extensive medical care, pregnant moms and moms with pups, senior dogs in need of medical assistance, and adults who otherwise have no chance at life.
Labs and More’s Fosters are a force to be proud of making room in their homes for hundreds of dogs weekly. These fosters have allowed Labs and More to provide a safe haven for moms and pups who have been discarded often worse than trash onto the streets, dumped injured along roadsides, and left to find shelter outside to deliver, feed and provide protection to their newborn pups. This year alone, they have saved over 160 litters of puppies and over 600 puppies. Many of these mom’s and pups require urgent medical care to include emergency C – Sections to save mom and babies, IV’s and blood tests because of their poor health and condition, and hospitalization for diseases like Parvo.
