They kicked off the new year with a bang! The lovely ladies of the Charlotte Tri Delta Alumnae Book Club even had a member join their discussion with book club favorite and New York Times bestselling author Kristy Woodson Harvey while onboard a cruise in Antarctica! Talk about dedication!!!
This fun-loving group is self-described by book club manager Anne as follows: “We have several alumnae members of Tri Delta sorority chapters from different colleges throughout the US who reside in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. We read and discuss books monthly. We have held discussions virtually since Covid started. We have 6 plus members who enjoy reading Women’s Fiction, Historical Fiction, Biographies, etc.”
Of their visit with Kristy Woodson Harvey, Anne shared this enthusiastic report:
“Our book group was thrilled to chat with Kristy regarding “The Summer of Songbirds”, which we all enjoyed immensely! One eighty-year-old member even joined our discussion while onboard a cruise in Antarctica, because she didn’t want to miss talking with Kristy. Kristy was delightful and shared heart-warming inspiration and anecdotes regarding her writing process, life in Beaufort, and her upcoming novel and TV series. She was extremely generous with her time and answered everyone’s questions. We all appreciate your generosity and this awesome opportunity! I am currently almost finished reading an ARC of “A Happier Life” and agree with your mother and husband that it is my favorite of your books – and that is exceptionally high praise, because I have loved each of them!”
