Biographical Info Julia Park Tracey is a career journalist and an accomplished poet, who was named Poet Laureate of Alameda, CA, in 2014-2017. She is the author of seven books, the latest of which is a historical fiction about her ancestors. The Bereaved is about the dark side of the Orphan Train and the mothers left behind; her great grandmother was one of those mothers, who lost her children to the Orphan Train movement and had to track the children down to retrieve them. Her books are about her ancestors-- women who fought against something bigger than themselves, and won.
