Biographical Info The author earned her Ph.D. in Literature from University of California, San Diego. During her academic career she was Lecturer at UCLA Writing Programs, Associate Director of Writing at UCSD’s Sixth College, and tenured Associate Professor of English at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Among various scholarly articles, she authored Letters to My Father, a memoir about her relationship with her father, and a chronicle of her two-year Fulbright in communist Poland researching the genealogy of her annihilated family, and reporting on current Polish attitudes towards the destroyed former Jewish community of Poland.
