An A+ for preparation and presentation! The Wine Alittle Laugh Alot Reading Readers Book Club is a teacher group of ten who meet monthly in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. They did their homework for their recent author visit with NYT bestselling author Mark Sullivan in discussion of his latest historical fiction novel The Last Green Valley (inspired by one family’s incredible story of daring, survival, and triumph).
Of their visit, book club manager Beth shared this:
“Our group thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Mark’s research on his incredible book. We were also shocked to learn that Mark used to live near us in PA. We loved the beekeeper story so much that we celebrated with a bag filled with honey herbal tea and honey sticks/candy from a local beekeeper. We also viewed the attached slideshow. We can’t wait to read his next book.”
It should be noted that Beth put together the attached slideshow for the benefit of some of her group members who listened to the audio book. If you’ve read The Last Green Valley, you’ll enjoy seeing the Martel family come to life through the photos shared in Beth’s slideshow. If you have yet to read it, you’ll be inspired to read this amazing story. We commend you, Beth, and your entire group of teachers for your dedication and commitment to excellence in education.
