The Last Night in London: An Exclusive Fireside Chat Adventure

April 18, 2021 @ 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

$30.00

About the Event

During the course of WWII, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt instituted a series of “fireside chats” on the radio, as a way to regularly communicate self-assurance and calm during times of despair and uncertainty in our country. While once a thing of the past, thanks to the brilliant collaboration of billionaire entrepreneur and Shark Tank TV star, Mark Cuban, and Falon Fatemi, former CEO and Founder of Node.ai, Fireside Chats are back, bigger and better than ever, and in a technological format that allows YOU to actively participate!

And we can’t think of a better way to launch our own Adventures by the Book series on Fireside Chat than with New York Times bestselling author Karen White as she celebrates the VIP pre-launch of her much-heralded WWII historical novel, The Last Night in London. Join us for our exclusive inaugural Fireside Chat where you can chat live with Karen to discuss her new book, ask questions, and converse with her “on stage.”

Admission to this event is unique, as Fireside Chat is open by invite only. Simply be one of the first 100 readers to purchase a book below and we will send you a private VIP link to attend the virtual event (iPhone or iPad are required). If you miss out being one of the first 100, no worries, as we will share the event as a podcast afterwards.

Your Adventure includes a hardcover copy of The Last Night in London (with signed bookplate), tax, shipping within the U.S. and Canada, a live Fireside Chat discussion with Karen, Q&A, and the opportunity to be one of only 100 people invited to celebrate Karen’s first event to celebrate the publication of The Last Night in London.

About the Author and Book

Karen White is  the New York Times bestselling author of 28 books, including the Tradd Street series, Dreams of Falling, The Night the Lights Went OutFlight Patterns, The Sound of Glass, A Long Time Gone, and The Time Between. She is the coauthor of All the Ways We Said Goodbye, The Glass Ocean and The Forgotten Room with New York Times bestselling authors Beatriz Williams and Lauren Willig. She grew up in London but now lives with her husband near Atlanta, Georgia.

In her much-anticipated historical novel, Karen weaves a captivating story of friendship, love, and betrayal that moves between war-torn London during the Blitz and the present day.

London, 1939. Beautiful and ambitious Eva Harlow and her American best friend, Precious Dubose, are trying to make their way as fashion models. When Eva falls in love with Graham St. John, an aristocrat and Royal Air Force pilot, she can’t believe her luck that she’s getting everything she ever wanted. Then the Blitz devastates her world, and Eva finds herself slipping into a web of intrigue, spies, and secrets. As Eva struggles to protect her friendship with Precious and everything she holds dear, all it takes is one unwary moment to change their lives forever…

London, 2019. American journalist Maddie Warner, whose life has been marked by the tragic loss of her mother, travels to London to interview Precious about her life in pre-WWII London. Maddie has been careful to close herself off to others, but in Precious she recognizes someone whose grief rivals her own—but unlike Maddie, Precious hasn’t allowed it to crush her.  Maddie finds herself drawn to both Precious and to Colin, her enigmatic surrogate nephew.  As Maddie gets closer to her, she begins to unravel Precious’s haunting past—a story of friendship, betrayal, and the unremembered acts of kindness and of love.
